The Vicksburg Main Street Program has decided to hit the bricks and take action by conducting a fundraising effort that will not only help downtown but beautify it as well. Due to Vicksburg Main Street Taxing District funds being lower than anticipated over the past year, the Vicksburg Main Street Program is hosting a fundraiser called "Make Your Mark in Downtown: One Brick at a Time." This fundraiser will help increase funds for promotions, economic development and day to day operations to keep downtown Vicksburg alive.
The purchase of a commemorative sidewalk brick in Historic Downtown Vicksburg creates a permanent reminder of life's special events and helps to support Vicksburg Main Street. Each brick is $50.00. Orders are being taken now for personalized bricks to be inlaid on the walkway at the Old Depot Museum, 1010 Levee Street. Bricks can be ordered by contacting the Vicksburg Main Street office at 601-634-4527.
